Carrie Richardson, LCSW
Carrie Richardson is a NC Licensed Clinical Social Worker who earned her Masters of Social Work from Appalachian State University in 2012. She has extensive experience as an emergency room crisis clinician, an outpatient therapy provider, a health coach, and as an Employee Assistance Program therapist. Her expertise includes helping others to deal with various challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, changes and grief, relational problems, faith crises, abandonment wounds, self-esteem issues, substance use, and LGBTQ+ experiences, all while promoting integrity and respect. Carrie particularly enjoys working with healthcare professionals, law enforcement, young adults, aging populations and athletes. As a clinician, she embraces a strengths-based approach, and borrows from several different theories for psychotherapy. Some examples of these models include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. She loves working with anyone who is truly invested in their own healing and willing to embrace healthy lifestyle changes.
In her free time, Carrie can be found in nature (usually training for her next marathon, hiking the mountains to sea trail or bike-packing somewhere out west).
