Our Mission
House Call Counseling is a social enterprise that connects counselors with communities by streamlining access to care through technology and community partnerships. We believe that everyone deserves quality mental health counseling, no matter where they live and no matter what their resources are.
About Us
House Call Counseling was founded in 2018 by Jessica Bruno, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Medical Family Therapist (MedFT). As a disabilities advocate, Jessica aimed to provide clinical mental health support for individuals and families who could not reasonably access a traditional office. In the beginning, House Call Counseling provided services exclusively in client homes. In 2020, House Call Counseling expanded its offerings to include telemental health counseling through phone and video. In response to the healthcare crisis due to the national shortage of mental health counselors, House Call Counseling started an internship program in 2022 to connect graduate students in need of clinical placement with members of the community in need of low cost services. Today, House Call Counseling offers a variety of wellness opportunities, including walk & talk therapy, community-based therapy, in-office therapy, and group therapy, across North Carolina.
